City planners are shifting land use planning in Marion County from a series of disconnected small-area plans developed over the past three decades to a truly comprehensive, single countywide land use plan.  The Plan 2020 update to the Marion County Land Use Plan is  the first significant step in this direction, but most plans prepared by Department of Metropolitan Development (DMD) staff since 2008 will remain separate and intact.  This is because these plans have recent community engagement and generally reflect the changing real estate dynamic and market preferences since the Great Recession.  The lists below reflect the plans that will be updated into the new Marion County Land Use Plan and those that will remain independent.
