Mission statement

IndyGo , the Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation and largest public transportation provider in the state of Indiana, exists to provide efficient, safe and reliable public transportation in Marion County.

The project is moving forward with final planning and construction document preparation. The project was awarded $75M Small Starts by the Federal Transit Administration and is waiting congressional appropriation. No construction contracts or vehicle procurement contracts will be finalized until federal funding is appropriated. Currently the project is on schedule, however that may change depending on congress.

The City Council and IndyGo Board have both supported the Marion County Transit Plan (high ridership focus) which was the foundation for funding under the referendum for transit income tax. However, the implementation of the plan is predicated on the City Council enacting the 0.25 income tax.

IndyGo is currently conducting a fare study to include technology, multimodal integration and fare structure. Once the plan is finalized and accepted we will be in position to solicit funding and establish an implementation schedule.
